Olivia Macklin on 35mm + Why I love Shooting Film | Los Angeles, California | Travel + Film
This October I visited my dear friend Olivia in LA while she was on hiatus from LA to Vegas. Needless to say, we had a great time basking in the glorious weather and eating our way down Abbot Kinney.

While I was in California, I exclusively shot film -- something I've been challenging myself to do more often. When I shoot film, I pay so much more attention to composition and aesthetics because I only have 30 or so exposures per roll (aka 30 moments to capture). Given how expensive it is to develop film, this forces me to stop and think before hitting the shutter.
Check out some highlights from my trip below.
All shot on my Canon A1 + Portra 400. I get all my film developed by The FIND Lab.
Santa Barbara to San Diego on Film | California Coast | Travel + Film
After graduating college, my friend Sam and I took a road trip from Santa Barbara all the way down to San Diego, stopping in coastal towns all the way down the Pacific Coast Highway.

Dreamy doesn't even begin to describe it.
While we were there, I did a bit of content creation you can check out here. But other than that, I didn't have my "real camera" out much at all. It was nice to focus on spending time with my friend in the moment, without worrying about making everything insta-worthy and aesthetically pleasing.
I did, however, use my Fujifilm Instax Wide 300 camera almost every day while we were there. Overall it was a much needed analog vacation.
